Analysis of the Resilience and Coping Strategies among Construction Female Employees

The construction industry is traditionally male-dominated, and promoting diversity and inclusion in the workforce is vital. Despite efforts to increase the representation of women, progress has been slow, resulting in missed potential for the industry.

Understanding the challenges women face and the coping strategies in their workplace is critical to encourage more women to pursue careers in construction. This study explores female employees' resilience and coping strategies in the construction industry.

Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 63 female participants from various construction companies in New Zealand. The study will highlight female construction workers' unique experiences and identify effective coping mechanisms that can support their resilience in the workplace. By highlighting these strategies, this study provides valuable insight into promoting greater diversity and inclusion in the construction industry.
